I was born in Derby - England for 20 years or so I have created presentations, publications, installations and videos at artist International, working in places as diverse as the Tate Modern, Royal Festival Hall and a cottage community in North Greenland Inuit. As an artist of disability (I am deaf) my work is reversed traditional social assessment "outsiderness and primitivism, the creation of models hermits, shamans false, false wild children, Santos and monsters quack suspect, based on the pathos, the failure, defeat and collapse. "2004 work-AHRC Research Fellow in the Creative and Performing Arts at the University of the City of Birmingham, (2004 - 07). The final report AHRC Community assessed by peer review my work and gave a rating of 'Outstanding'. I have also been awarded several scholarships and other residences including Helen Chadwick Fellowship in Rome 2001 - 02. My book, "Aaron Williamson: performances, videos, collaborations," was published by Live Art Development Agency / University of Kingston in September 2008. In 1997 I finished my doctoral thesis on performance, writing and corporate identity, called constitutions for registration in the University of Sussex, UK. Other publications: "Hearing things" (London: Bookworks, 2001). Co-editor of art, collection of essays on art and subjectivity (2007). Besides my solo work I am artistic director the group of disabled artists, 15mm Films - see www.15mmfilms.com . Member of international collective of performance artists "The wolf in winter (also part of: Brian Catling, Jason Lim, Myriam Laplante). Araniello Katherine did a collaborative work in making video and public performances as Avant, 'The Disabled-garde' www.the-disabled-avant-garde.com/ . In November 2008 I won the New Media Artist of the Year 'sponsored by FACT, Liverpool and Dada Festival.
